Pat Robertson is perhaps the ONLY person I’ve EVER heard refer to the Dominican as a properous nation.
On another note, I already had disdain for Pat Robertson’s idiotic take on history. He wrote a book saying WW II was completely avoidable, and Britain didn’t do enough to avoid war with Germany.
Moron
Having listened to the Limbaugh show in question, I’d have to say the clip on Rush took him way out of context. Frankly, Rush is right in this. Private donations are often far more effective, immediate, and responsive than our government, and that’s the route that should be taken. As annoying as he can be, Rush is really in the clear on this one…and is making a big point.
As for Pat…sigh.
Pat Robertson was foolish.
I am not a huge Rush fan, but I happen to be listening to the radio when he made those statements. The clips they used were, surprise!, taken out of context (can you believe our news channels might not be trustworthy?!). They were minorly worthy of an eye roll, but he was not diminishing the situation in Haiti at all. Haiti wasn’t the topic. All politicians on both sides and on the fence run most things in life through a political lens: whether or not there is political gain or loss. That’s yet another fantastic reason to remember that this world is not our home. The kingdom of America is NOT the kingdom of God.
What the crap!$#@..?
I cant even formulate a sentence to convey how crazy both of those sound….. Wow! I hope Jesus comes soon. That is just insane!
The biggest buffoon in that video is that idiot know nothing Ed the talking horse. Other than Pat saying Haiti sold themselves to the Devil..I didn’t see much wrong with either of those clips. Did everyone miss the part where Pat said we need to send aid and pray for them because of the unimaginable destruction? Of course Rush is totally on the money.
SERIOUSLY – I wonder, and I mean honestly, what would Jesus say to this? Or would he just ignore it? I think that’s what he would do.
I’m not sure what to say about Pat Robertson, other than I’m not sure why anyone cares about his opinion, however, in response to the Limbaugh clip, I to was listening to his program when he made those remarks, and as others have posted, they were completely out of context. His point was that as usual, politicians, especially those on the left, have a tendancy to politicize disasters, instead of showing genuine concern and compassion. In context, his remarks were right on the money.
It is not PC to say God punishes people by means of death– especially when it seem innocent lives are involved. My first initial response to Pat Robertson is he is a cook for blurting such nonsense. However, help me out here Mike. Does God not bring about death to large masses of people in the Old Testament? Do Ananias and Sapphira not drop dead after committing their sins in the book of Acts? I believe what Pat Robertson is referring to when he talks about Haiti selling their soles to the Devil is the fact that the practice of Voodoo is prevalent there. Why would God punish (or at least withhold grace from) those that turn from him in the Bible, but not in today’s world?
I do believe Rush’s comments are a bit much, even when put into context. I think we could have expected any Administration to react quickly to the Haiti situation because it is the right thing to do. It would just be nice to see such swift action taken when it comes to some of our own domestic issues and citizens. For those who know better then to trust MSNBC’s editing you can see the transcript of Rush’s comments here: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_011310/content/01125106.guest.html
Last, Mike to be “fair and balanced” you should have had a liberal “buffoon” for which we could cast our vote. How about Olbermann using the Haiti situation to create a doom and gloom scenario with our health care system! http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=Gd2GeuSUpr
You??? For putting this on your blog??? Jk…sort of.
